NutraCea (NTRZ)
NutraCea (OTC QB: NTRZ) is a world leader in the production and marketing of value added products derived from rice bran. NutraCea holds many patents for processed rice bran (SRB) production technology and proprietary products derived from SRB. NutraCea's proprietary technology enables the creation of food and nutrition products to be unlocked from rice bran, normally an underutilized co-product of rice milling. NutraCea also produces rice based consumer health supplements which can be found at www.nutraceaonline.com.
NutraCea is a food ingredient and health science company with proprietary IP to process and convert rice bran, one of the world’s most underutilized food resources, into higher value products. NutraCea’s primary products are rice bran oil (RBO), defatted rice bran (DRB) and stabilized rice bran (SRB). Revenues are broken down into two main segments, Bio-refining, a method of extracting and refining high value products from an agricultural raw material, and SRB, a nutrient-dense natural food and excellent source of vitamins.
Recently NutraCea entered into a Joint Research and Development Agreement with the DSM Innovation Center (DSM), part of Royal DSM N.V., a global science-based company active in health, nutrition and materials with annual net sales of approximately EUR 9 billion. Under the agreement NutraCea and DSM will share existing patented and proprietary intellectual property and know-how to investigate extraction of modification of high quality vegetable proteins from rice bran.
